LIGHTHOUSE – a beacon guiding Cromarty bound ships to safety

OLD BREWERY – bridging the gap between past and present i.e. an important building for the village when it was constructed, and now as an arts centre it draws people from all over the world. I spent an invaluable week there as a pupil of Fortrose Academy

OLD ROPEWORKS – another historical building, altered to satisfy modern needs

FISHER TOWN – the oldest homes to the people of Cromarty

EMIGRANT STONE – an important reminder of the Highland Clearances

OIL RIG – modern industry and the willingness to move with the times

HARBOUR – one of the village’s most important features throughout the ages, illustrated by the VIKING LONGBOAT and modern FISHING BOAT

MERMAID – as she appears in the story of Jim Reid, sitting on the MERMAID’S ROCK braiding her hair (forming a pattern like those found on Pictish stone carvings in the local area).

HERRING - fishing being the main income in the past
